Pistons guard Reggie Jackson underwent treatment on his left knee and right thumb Monday as part of the recovery that is expected to sideline him six to eight weeks, the team announced.
Jackson received platelet-rich plasma injections to help the tendinosis, a form of tendinitis, in the leg joint and the sprained ligament in the finger.
“We’re on the way back,” Jackson said while walking with crutches in a video posted on his Instagram account.
“We’re still chasing that Eastern Conference finals this year.”
The Pistons started Ish Smith in their exhibition opener, last Thursday against the Nets, and also have Ray McCallum at point guard.
