QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
Phil Jackson "I still thought he went to the basket hard at the end. He was still able to get to the basket and do what he wanted to do. He was out there to make plays."
-- Lakers coach Phil Jackson after Kobe Bryant fought off back spasms, but Los Angeles came up short down the stretch in OT.
NBA.COM'S FANTASY TAKE
Zydrunas Ilgauskas There is just one game on the schedule on Monday, so the biggest question is who will win the series. I’m still going with the Celtics. The only reliable players for Cleveland have been Zydrunas Ilgauskas and LeBron James. Even with Boston defenders all over him, James has managed to average 32 PRA on the series, so the Experts say he’s the pick. If you already used LeBron in Game 1 -- like I did -- Ilgauskas will also make a solid pick.

STAT SHEET STUFFER
Tim Duncan The San Antonio Spurs showed that after two off nights in New Orleans they’re now capable of firing on all cylinders. Tim Duncan led the way with 22 points and 15 rebounds to go along with three assists in Sunday’s 100-80 rout of the Hornets. Duncan’s scoring numbers have been down in the series, but he’s been a force in the paint, racking up four blocks in each of the Spurs’ home wins.

JAZZ PULL EVEN IN OT
Deron Williams After two games in Los Angeles, the Lakers looked to be heading for a second consecutive playoff sweep. The Jazz had other ideas. Utah’s thrilling overtime win on Sunday pulled the Jazz into a 2-2 tie for the series. The Lakers ended regulation on a 20-8 run to force overtime, but scored just seven points in the extra session as Utah pulled away for a 123-115 home win. Deron Williams stepped up while facing off against former teammate Derek Fisher. Williams notched 29 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the floor while also handing out 14 assists. On the other hand, Carlos Boozer continued to be pestered by the Lakers’ athletic defenders, tallying 14 points and 12 rebounds while shooting 33 percent from the field. Kobe Bryant kept his impressive scoring run going with 33 points, giving the MVP 30 points in all four games of the series. He struggled from the floor while battling back spasms, but came up just two rebounds short of a triple-double with 10 assists and eight boards.
HOME COOKING
Tony Parker The Jazz had the best home record in the NBA this season, losing just four times in the regular season, but they aren’t the only ones enjoying success at home in the second round. With Utah and San Antonio successfully defending their home courts on Sunday, the Pistons are the only team to win while ordering room service. The Spurs seem to be rolling in the right direction after two decisive victories at home. After combining for just 44.5 points a game in the first two games of the series, San Antonio’s trio of stars have rediscovered their scoring touch. While resting for much of the fourth quarter of Sunday’s blowout win, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan have teamed up for 68 points a game over the last two games. If the defending champs hope to advance to the conference finals, they will have to win at least one on the road at some point. The Spurs return to New Orleans for Game 5 on Tuesday, but better remember to pack their firepower for the trip.
SIXTH MAN OF THE NIGHT
Ime Udoka Seeing the first playoff action of his career this season with the Spurs, Ime Udoka set a new career playoff high on Sunday with 15 points, while tying his previous high with six rebounds. While the Spurs’ starters spent most of the fourth quarter on the bench, Udoka kept San Antonio out in front with hot shooting – 5-of-8 from the field, 3-of-5 from 3-point range – and prickly defense – four steals in 23 minutes of action off the bench.
COOL/CLUTCH PERFORMANCE
Andrei Kirilenko Andrei Kirilenko may have faded after scoring seven first-quarter points during Sunday’s home win, but he pulled it together in all the right moments. Kirilenko, who was a perfect 4-of-4 from the floor, was held scoreless during the fourth quarter, but shined on the defensive end. After blocking two consecutive Kobe Bryant layups in the extra session, he came back on the other end for a three-point play to help the Jazz pull away with 35 seconds to go.
WNBA STAR OF THE NIGHT
Candace Parker The Los Angeles Sparks squeaked out their third straight pre-season win on Sunday with a 106-105 double overtime road win over the Minnesota Lynx. The Sparks were again led by their fantastic forwards – Lisa Leslie and no. 1 pick Candace Parker. Fresh off of receiving her diploma from the University of Tennessee, Parker contributed 10 points and six rebounds in 17 minutes of action, while Leslie added 13 points and six boards, also in limited action.
