QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
Mike Woodson "We made every play we needed to make in those 51 seconds."

-- Hawks coach Mike Woodson after his team held on for a 114-111 overtime win that was replayed from Dec. 19.
NBA.COM'S FANTASY TAKE
Tracy McGrady The Rockets continued to roll on Saturday with their 18th straight win and are beginning to silence critics who say that they haven’t beaten anybody during the streak with recent wins over the Mavericks and the Hornets. With Yao Ming sidelined for the rest of the season, Tracy McGrady continues to take on an even greater role. McGrady scored 31 points and dished out nine assists against the Mavericks on Thursday and tallied 41 points and nine assists against the Hornets on Saturday. McGrady will continue to lead the team in scoring and rack up assists as the offense runs through his hands. Fantasy Index

Nowitzki broke the mark with his last shot of the game, which gave Dallas a 21-point lead with five minutes left to play. BIG TICKET REACHES BIG MILESTONE
Kevin Garnett In a second straight rout by the Celtics on Saturday, Kevin Garnett became the 32nd player in NBA history to score 20,000 career points. After coming within a point of the milestone during the first quarter of play, Garnett rested through the end of the first and start of the second quarters before reaching the milestone on a fast break lay-up with 4:41 remaining in the half. He finished the game with 17 points to go along with eight rebounds and four assists. Not normally known for being one of the games premier scorers, Garnett is now fourth among active points leaders with 20,010, trailing only Shaquille O’Neal, Allen Iverson and Kobe Bryant. The achievement came with little fanfare during the road win over the Grizzlies. Garnett came close to reaching the mark at home on Friday, but sat out the fourth quarter with the rest of the starters after the Celtics built a 28-point lead over the Chicago Bulls.
HAWKS TAKE TWO FROM MIAMI
Joe Johnson The rosters differed, but the result was the same. After a challenge from Pat Riley following Shaquille O’Neal being unnecessarily fouled out of the game, the Hawks and Heat resumed their Dec. 19 contest on Saturday. The Heat had two possessions in 51.9 seconds to try to overcome the three-point deficit, but missed both tries. Nobody scored in the replay and the final score remained 114-111. After a 15-minute break, the Hawks were at it again in the regularly-scheduled match up. With the return of Dwyane Wade and company to the lineup, Miami was at full strength again after a thrashing by the Warriors on Friday, and looked good, never trailing in the first quarter. As the game continued, however, the Hawks pulled in front behind Joe Johnson and Josh Smith. Johnson led the way with 39 points and eight assists. Wade had a chance to tie each game in the final seconds, but the attempts rimmed out.
SIXTH MAN OF THE NIGHT
Paul Millsap The Utah Jazz continued their hot play on Saturday with a 132-105 win over the Nuggets, their 18th straight home win. Paul Millsap provided steady numbers off the bench with 16 points – nine during the Jazz’s game-breaking second quarter – to go with 10 rebounds and four assists in 32 minutes of action. The second year forward out of Louisiana Tech was one of four Utah players with double-doubles.
ROOKIE WATCH
Al Thornton Al Thornton continues to make his late case for Rookie of the Year, trying to track down Kevin Durant and Al Horford. After getting off to a slow start on Saturday with zero points in the first quarter, Thornton flipped the switch for 11 points in the second quarter. The Clippers couldn't maintain the energy that Thornton added off the bench and lost to the T-Wolves despite his 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists.
D-LEAGUE STAR OF THE NIGHT
Marcus Williams Marcus Williams is leading the Austin Toros in scoring for the season with 17.6 points per game. The rookie forward nearly doubled his average on Saturday with 33 points in the Toros 119-114 win over the Albuquerque Thunderbirds on the road. Williams also added 11 rebounds to go with five assists, a steal and a block. The former-Wildcat has helped lead the Toros to the top spot in the Southwest Division.
