QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
Manu Ginobili "I don't think we approached the game with the right mentality. It's easy to play against Dallas, to bring the right mentality because it's that rivalry and what it means. But you've got to bring it every game..."
-- Spurs guard Manu Ginobili after escaping with a win over the Bucks.

NBA.COM'S FANTASY TAKE
Nate Robinson Nate Robinson looks like he has finally locked up the Knicks starting point guard spot in Stephon Marbury’s absence. Robinson has been seeing steadily increasing minutes for New York. That is mostly translating to big games, which is why we advised you to pick him up this week, even in the shallow leagues. Although, Robinson’s less than stellar performance against the Magic – four points, two rebounds and one assist – may give you pause. Fantasy Index.

STAT SHEET STUFFER
Dwight Howard Every time we start to think Dwight Howard just might be human – see his 6-of-13 (2-of-7 from the line) shooting performance against the Sixers on Wednesday – he flashes back to his dominant, ‘Superman’ self. Against the Knicks on Saturday, Howard and the rest of Magic rebounded nicely for the 118-92 home win. Howard led the way with his 52nd double-double. The 26-point, 22-rebound performance marks the seventh time he went over 20-20.

SPURS HOLD OFF BUCKS
Tim Duncan The Spurs went 10-1 in the month of February, but also started March off on the wrong foot. If not for Michael Redd uncharacteristically missing a late free throw, San Antonio would have been facing overtime in Milwaukee. The Spurs rode Tim Duncan through February as the All-Star power forward averaged 21.8 points and 13 rebounds and capped off the mega-month with a 31-point and 15-rebound effort against the Mavericks. The Bucks clamped down on him throughout the game, only allowing Duncan to score nine points on 4-of-11 shooting. While the victory was in no way convincing, it was encouraging to see San Antonio’s other two stars healthy and ready to pick up Duncan’s slack. Manu Ginobili led the way with 30 points, while Tony Parker chipped in 26 points and five assists. Redd led the Bucks with 25 points, but missed the first of two free throws while trailing by two with 1.3 seconds to go, before intentionally missing the second.
STRUGGLES CONTINUE IN PHOENIX
Shaquille O'Neal The Sixers won in Phoenix for the first time in six years on Saturday -- further evidence that the Suns are experiencing some minor growing pains since dealing Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks for Shaquille O’Neal in an attempt to get bigger. When Steve Kerr pulled the trigger on the deal the Suns were in first out West. Now they have fallen to sixth and are 2-4 with O’Neal in the lineup. Shaq has been averaging a double-double (10.8 points and 10.4 rebounds) since moving out to the dry Arizona air, but on Saturday only managed eight points and seven rebounds in just under 26 minutes of play. Phoenix had been one of the league’s most athletic teams, but was outrun by Philadelphia by a 30-16 margin in a 119-114 home loss. Marion was a versatile player at the power forward spot. While shifting Stoudemire to the 4 spot has made the Suns more dominant down low, they have yet to find a way to replace Marion’s defense, athleticism or three-point shooting.
SIXTH MAN OF THE NIGHT
Kyle Korver The Jazz have been hot since acquiring Kyle Korver in a Dec. 29 trade with the Sixers. One place where that success hasn’t translated is on the road. Utah is 25-3 in state and just 12-19 on the road. It looked like the trend would continue on Saturday. That is, of course, until Kyle Korver took over. Korver scored 12 of his 17 points in the second quarter to spark a Jazz rally to take the lead and never look back.
ROOKIE WATCH
Rodney Stuckey With Chauncey Billups flying back to Detroit to attend to a “personal matter,” rookie Rodney Stuckey stepped into the Pistons’ lineup for his first career start. The shooting guard out of Eastern Washington has averaged six points and two rebounds a game this season, but managed to put together nine points, five rebounds and two assists in his extra minutes Saturday as the Pistons beat up on the Clippers.
D-LEAGUE STAR OF THE NIGHT
Eddie Gill If Eddie Gill keeps playing like this, he could find himself back up in the big league once again. Gill took home Star of the Night honors last night for his 31-point, seven-assist performance in the 14ers win over the Albuquerque Thunderbirds. He followed it up on Saturday with 33 points, 12 assists and six rebounds in the Colorado 14ers heartbreaking double-overtime loss to the Tulsa 66ers.
