QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
Shawn Marion "The sky's the limit. Can't get any worse. We can only get better now.''

NBA.COM'S FANTASY TAKE
Boris Diaw All the fantasy talk surrounding the Shaquille O'Neal-Shawn Marion, Marcus Banks deal focused on how different sceneries or increased minutes would correlate into bigger numbers for the aforementioned players. But for the Suns on Friday night, the deal meant increased free throw percentage. Phoenix went 32-of-32 from the charity stripe to give them an edge over Seattle. And even though it didn't result it better numbers, more time on the court looks like it will eventually lead to an overall increase in production from Boris Diaw. The fifth-year forward played hard down the stretch and came up with a huge block on Kevin Durant. If you can get Diaw for a good price, consider pulling the trigger. STAT SHEET STUFFER
Jason Kidd Jason Kidd made it clear on Friday why he is worthy of his ninth All-Star selection, even in his 14th season. Despite trade rumors and possible dissatisfaction with New Jersey's record, Kidd went about his business and unloaded on Charlotte for his 99th career triple-double. The Nets star guard stuffed his stat sheet with 19 points, 11 boards and 13 assists to notch his NBA-leading 14th triple-double of the season and give his team a win.

CELTICS STEAL ANOTHER ONE FROM THE WOLVES
Leon Powe In the Celtics first matchup against the Wolves since a blockbuster trade sent Kevin Garnett to Boston, the Big Ticket came up with huge steal as time expired to seal a dramatic win. After such a thrilling performance, no one expected the second go-around to be as impressive, especially after it was announced that KG would miss his sixth straight game with an abdominal strain. But, that's exactly what happened. Down two, with 7.9 seconds left, Minnesota found itself knotted up with Boston. With the ball in his hands Marko Jaric missed a potential go-ahead jumper and Craig Smith grabbed a rebound and sent the ball towards a teammate, before going out-of-bounds. But before the ball could reach its expected destination, Ray Allen picked off the pass and bolted down the court, missing a layup, that was putback by Leon Powe as time expired to pull off an amazing win. "I didn't think he was going to miss,'' Powe said of Allen's shot attempt. "I knew I got it off in time, I just didn't know if there was a foul or anything.''
ROCKY MOUNTAIN CAREER HIGH FOR MELO
Carmelo Anthony It was the best scoring night of Carmelo Anthony's career. He had 49 points and Denver's crowd was on its feet awaiting its young superstar to break the half-century mark. There was only one problem: The Wizards wouldn't allow it. After Nick Young made an emphatic dunk with 11.2 seconds left, the Nuggets tried to put the ball in to the hands of Melo. But Washington decided to double-team Anthony away from the ball and force Denver to run out the clock. Numeric milestones aside, it did not matter. The damage was already done. Anthony went an insane 19-of-25 from the field and 3-of-3 from behind the arc to amass his career high and give the Nuggets an easy victory over the Wizards on Friday. "I was definitely surprised by that," Allen Iverson said of Washington's defensive plan. "What for? Just to stop him from getting 50? I wanted to be a part of him scoring 50 points. I was happy for him, just to see him play like that. I never had a teammate score 49 points. This is one of the easiest games I ever played.''
ROOKIE WATCH
Al Thornton In his first season, Al Thornton has shown flashes of a player capable of being the Rookie of the Year. In certain games, he is able to completely takeover. But, he is still unable to put together any consistency. Fortunately for the Clippers -- not for the Raptors -- Thornton was riding his hot hand on Friday. The former Florida State Seminole fired 19 points on a scorching 9-of-13 shooting performance and grabbed nine boards to push the Clippers past the Raptors, spoiling the 1,000th game in Toronto's history. He also took the ball hard inside at Chris Bosh, keeping Toronto's star big man in foul trouble throughout the night.
COOL/CLUTCH PERFORMANCES
Quincy Douby It was a tough decision to decide whether reserves Quincy Douby and John Salmons should be named Sixth Men of the Night or given credit for their Cool/Clutch Performances. In the end, we'll go with the Cool/Clutch since their fourth-quarter contributions were as good as any starter's in the league on Friday. After being held to a combined seven points through the first three quarters, the pairing exploded for 19 in the fourth to lift the Kings over the Jazz, ending their 10-game win streak. Douby dropped a pair of 3-point bombs late to seal the deal. Kevin Martin kept Sacramento in it early, scoring 22 first-half points.
D-LEAGUE STAR OF THE NIGHT
Randy Livingston Will the Stampede ever lose again? If Friday's game against the D-Fenders is any indication, the answer is no. Even though they faced a three-point deficit heading into the fourth quarter, Idaho made sure this one was not even close. Randy Livingston led the charge with 10 of his game-high 24 points in the final frame to help the Stampede outscore the D-Fenders by 17 in the fourth quarter for their D-Leauge record 18th straight win. Livingston also dished out 13 assists for his 14th double-double of the season. Teammate Lance Allred notched 14 points and 11 rebounds to help Idaho remain undefeated (15-0) at home.
