QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
"I don't know what it is. I've been here seven years and it seems like the same thing. It's frustrating when you go out there and play good for one half, and in the second half you lay an egg. We've got to get together some way, somehow. It's getting frustrating. You get tired of hearing the same old thing.''

-- Indiana's Jamaal Tinsley, after another second-half collapse by the Pacers in Friday's 110-101 loss in Toronto extended Indiana's losing streak to six.

NBA.COM'S FANTASY TAKE
You can only hope to contain Orlando’s Dwight Howard. The Magic Man turned in another stellar effort with 21 points, 19 rebounds and one blocked shot in his team’s win over the Nets. Those are the kinds of numbers fantasy owners love and have come to expect. In his last four games, Howard is averaging nearly 26 points and 16 rebounds. Check out our Fantasy Index.

STAT SHEET STUFFER
LeBron James was the King in Cleveland, while Jason wasn’t Kidd-ing around in New Jersey, although his stat sheet was scary good on a Friday night. LeBron just missed a triple-double with 41 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in the Cavs’ win over the Jazz and good buddy Carlos Boozer, who heard the boos in facing his former club. Meanwhile, Jason Kidd ripped off 11 points and 10 assists and a staggering 19 rebounds in Jersey’s loss to the Magic.

BREAK UP THE SONICS
Just when you thought Kevin Durant’s star couldn’t shine any brighter, the much-heralded rookie recorded his first game-winner on Friday. Durant drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Seattle to a thrilling 126-123 win in double-overtime against the Hawks. The game seemed destined for a third OT after Tyronn Lue’s driving layup tied it at 123 with only two ticks left on the clock. The poised Durant, with fellow rookie Al Horford guarding him at the top of the key, pumped once to get the defender in the air before shooting over his outstretched arm. Durant, the No. 2 pick overall out of Texas, finished with 21 points. The game featured 20 lead changes and was tied 15 times. The Sonics own their first two-game win streak of the season after an 0-8 start. The loss spoiled a great comeback by Atlanta, which outscored Seattle 62-49 in the second half.
RACKING UP THE OVERTIME
In addition to the Sonics-Hawks thriller, two other games had to be decided in extra sessions. The Hornets, behind David West’s 40 points, beat the Grizzlies 120-118. On the West Coast -- what a great segue -- the Kings edged the Knicks 123-118 in double OT. Without a doubt the most entertaining contest on Friday’s 12-game slate was the Hornets’ wild win in Memphis. Down 106-103 with 35 seconds in regulation, the Grizzlies began fouling. New Orleans sank a perfect 10-for-10 from the charity stripe, but Memphis drained three huge treys -- two by Rudy Gay -- in the final 13 seconds to force overtime. In OT, West scored all six of the Hornets’ points as the visitors escaped with the victory.
SIXTH MAN OF THE NIGHT
Jose Calderon gets some love for his 15 points and 10 assists in the Raptors’ 110-101 win that sent the Pacers to their sixth straight defeat. Calderon also was 6-of-8 from the floor. With Toronto clinging to a 101-98 lead, Calderon nailed a 3-pointer with 48 seconds remaining that pushed Toronto's lead back to six and essentially sealed the victory. "I don't think they lost the game, I think we won it,'' Calderon said. "We played really good defense in the fourth quarter.'' In the same game, Troy Murphy registered 20 points off the bench for the Pacers, who have not won since a road victory over Memphis on Nov. 3.
ROOKIE WATCH
Juan Carlos Navarro not only made a lot of 3s, but he also made history in the process. Navarro was nearly perfect from downtown, going 8-for-9 in the Grizzlies’ overtime loss to the Hornets. The 6-foot-3 guard from Spain tied the rookie record for treys also held by Jason Kidd (1995) and Chris Duhon (2005). "The rim was very big for me. Some days it's very big; some days it's small,'' said Navarro, who led the Grizzlies with a career-high 28 points -- part of Memphis' 15-of-24 shooting outside the arc. He was certainly Memphis’ "Rain Man" as both teams combined for 24-of-44 from three-point land.
COOL/CLUTCH PERFORMANCE
Damien Wilkins made his uncle and his father proud by being his own human highlight reel for the Sonics on Friday. Damien, son of Gerald and nephew of Dominique, pumped in a career-high 41 points in Seattle’s thrilling 126-123 double-overtime victory against the Kings. Both his father and uncle were in attendance to witness Damien’s fine performance. "Playing in front of family certainly made it special for me,'' Wilkins said. Kevin Durant stole some of his thunder by hitting the game-winner at the buzzer, but Wilkins was the main reason Seattle was in position to win. Not too shabby for a guy that wasn’t even drafted.
