QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
"We're sponsoring tryouts tomorrow at 10:30."

-- Boston coach Doc Rivers joked, after the Celtics had only two players available on the bench due to injuries in their 102-94 loss to the Sixers on Wednesday.
NBA.COM'S FANTASY TAKE
Around this time of year a lot of fantasy players start looking for sleepers to improve their squad in next season's draft. While David Noel had an amazing game on Wednesday, going 7-of-10 from the field and 3-of-3 from 3-point range on his way to 18 points in the Bucks' 104-98 loss to the Pacers, all indications suggest he won't continue that trend next season. With Michael Redd and others returning, Noel won't see as much of the ball.

MIAMI SECURES TOP SPOT IN SOUTHEAST
After Dwyane Wade went down with a dislocated shoulder on Feb. 21, the then struggling Heat looked to be in no position to make a playoff push. However, close to two months later, Miami brought home another division title as Alonzo Mourning hit a go-head basked with 1:23 remaining in regulation and added a pivotal block in the final seconds to lift the Heat over the Wizards, 85-82, and seal the Southeast crown on Wednesday. The victory assured that Miami will open the playoffs no lower than the fourth seed as it makes the push to defend its NBA title. "Our goal is to get to the championship and defend our title," Wade said. "This was something we expected coming in, but it was hard on us."
THE ROAD FOR EAST TITLE GOES THROUGH DETROIT
When the Heat won The Finals last year and Ben Wallace departed to Chicago in the offseason, some analysts thought the Pistons' days as an Eastern Conference juggernaut had past them by. However, Detroit once again proved to be the true beast of the East as it brought home another top seed in the conference Wednesday with a 104-99 victory over the Magic, securing home-court advantage throughout the Eastern Conference playoffs. Chauncey Billups scored 20 of his 28 points in the second half and Richard Hamilton added 21. "After what Joe Dumars has brought here, and what we've accomplished on the floor, we're not going to get excited about this," Tayshaun Prince said. "We're not going to celebrate a thing unless we win it all." Prince finished with 17 points.
ROOKIE WATCH
With Dirk Nowitzki and Jerry Stackhouse out of the lineup, Jose Barea made the best of his opportunity. The rookie out of Northeastern poured in 13 points off the bench, including eight in Dallas' 38-point third quarter, and the Mavericks downed the Timberwolves, 105-88, on Wednesday. Jason Terry and Josh Howard each added 16. With the victory, Dallas set a franchise record by grabbing its 30th road win of the season. If the Mavs (65-13) win their final four games of the season, they will finish with the second-best record in NBA history.
SIXTH MAN OF THE NIGHT
Leandro Barbosa came even closer to securing that Sixth Man of the Year title on Wednesday. The Brazilian Blur went 4-of-6 from 3-point range on his way to 20 points in the Suns' 109-91 home victory over the Sonics, keeping the Suns two games ahead of the Spurs for the second seed in the Western Conference playoff race. On the season, Barbosa is now averaging 18 points per game, third highest on Phoenix's roster. Shawn Marion added 24 points and 10 rebounds to offset a 30-point night by Rashard Lewis.
D-LEAGUE STAR OF THE NIGHT
Scooter McFadgon is doing his best at the end of his season to get noticed by an NBA squad. On Wednesday, McFadgon went 17-of-27 from the field as he exploded for 41 points in the Jam's 134-123 road loss to the Thunderbirds on Wednesday. The total was his second-highest of the year. Scooter poured in a season-best 48 points against the 14ers on March 21. Albuquerque's Dijon Thompson scored 26 and Brandon Robinson tallied 20 points and 10 rebounds as seven Thunderbirds scored in double figures in the victory.
