QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
"It's been the same thing all year. We play the right way for three quarters. ... We either don't respect the game or don't respect the opponent. It comes back to get you every time.''

-- Minnesota coach Randy Wittman said after the Timberwolves lost a 25-point third quarter lead in a 114-106 loss to the Sonics.
NBA.COM'S FANTASY TAKE
Although it is late in the fantasy game, if you are in need of scoring help down the stretch, the Grizzlies' Tarence Kinsey may be your answer. Kinsey has scored in double digits in three straight games, and after posting a career-high 20 on Saturday against the Jazz, the rookie guard poured in 24 points to go along with seven boards in Memphis' 88-86 victory over the Lakers on Tuesday.

STAT SHEET STUFFER
While Kobe Bryant entered the night as the NBA's hottest player, Pau Gasol and the Grizzlies did their best to cool him down. Gasol tallied 10 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks, including a rejection of Bryant's potential game-tying shot with 2.6 seconds left in regulation, to lift Memphis over Los Angeles, 88-86, on Tuesday. The Grizzlies held Kobe to 7-of-26 shooting from the field.

DALLAS DOMINANCE
Despite battling flu-like symptoms on Tuesday, Dirk Nowitzki came to play, even though his services were only needed for three quarters. Josh Howard tallied 25 points and 10 rebounds, Jason Terry put up 19 points and Dirk scored 15 as the Mavericks cruised past the Hornets, 105-89, their 21st consecutive win over the franchise. All three stars were able to watch the entire fourth quarter from the bench as Dallas took a 25-point lead into the final period. The Hornets' losing streak against the Mavericks is the longest losing streak for a team against an opponent in the NBA, NFL, NHL or MLB. "I think they saw a mountain that couldn't be moved,'' coach Byron Scott said.
SUPERSONIC CHARGE
With the Sonics sitting towards the bottom of the Western Conference and facing a 25-point third-quarter deficit against Timberwolves, it appeared almost certain that Seattle would watch another number tallied in its loss column. However, Rashard Lewis had other things in mind as he dropped an astonishing 21 of his 35 points in the fourth quarter and the Sonics rallied for the second largest comeback of this season, shocking Minnesota, 114-106, on Tuesday. Kevin Garnett nearly added another triple-double to his resume, posting 20 points, 12 boards and nine assists, but he scored only five points in the final period and registered a single dime in the second half.
D-LEAGUE STAR OF THE NIGHT
Faced with a five-point halftime deficit, Quemont Greer and the Wizards came out of halftime on a mission. Dakota opened up the third quarter on a 17-4 run and Greer scored 10 of his 24 points in the period to lead the Wizards past the Thunderbirds, 110-106, on Tuesday. Darius Rice added 23 points to offset a near triple-double by Julius Hodge, who put up 24 points, 10 boards and eight assists. Dijon Thompson added 27 in the loss. In Anaheim, Steven Smith put up 15 of his 34 points in the fourth quarter to go along with 11 rebounds, but the Arsenal dropped a 108-98 decision to the Jam.
