QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
"I told the guys before the San Antonio game (on March 13) to go out and play, don't put any added pressure on yourselves. When you go out thinking, you're always going to make mistakes
--The Clippers' Tim Thomas said after his team snapped a five-game losing streak with a 102-93 win in Charlotte on Friday.
NBA.COM'S FANTASY TAKE
If Andrei Kirilenko is still on your fantasy roster at this point in the season, you either play in a very deep league or you're living in the past. After posting a line of eight points, ZERO rebounds, ZERO assists and FIVE turnovers with Carlos Boozer in foul trouble in an 89-88 defeat in Philly on Friday, it's officially time to let Kirilenko go.

FORMER BABY BULLS GO HEAD-TO-HEAD
After entering the league together in 2001, former Chicago Bulls big men Tyson Chandler and Eddy Curry are finally showing their true potentials with different teams. Chandler has been a rebounding machine with the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, averaging a league second-best 12.5 per game, while Curry has become one of the NBA's premier centers, posting 19.2 points and 7.1 rebounds per game with the New York Knicks. The two former first-round selections of the 2001 NBA Draft who shared a frontcourt for four season's in Chicago met Friday night with Chandler's Hornets edging Curry's Knicks, 92-90, in New York. Chandler finished with 11 rebounds, and Curry had 18 points and six boards. The Hornets, who snapped a six-game losing streak, were led by David West's 18 points, including the go-ahead jumper with 55 seconds left, and 12 rebounds. Chris Paul, playing with a stress reaction in his left foot, had 20 points and eight assists. Steve Francis guided the Knicks with 21 points and 10 assists, but missed a potential game-winning three-point attempt as time expired. New York missed an opportunity to move into sole possession of seventh place in the Eastern Conference.
KOBE ENDS LAKERS LOSING STREAK WITH STYLE
Kobe Bryant was determined to end the Los Angeles Lakers' seven-game losing streak, so what better way to do so than by recording the second highest-scoring game of his career? Bryant poured in a season-high 65 points on 23-of-39 shooting from the floor - including 8-of-12 from beyond the arc and 11-of-12 from the free throw line - to lead the Lakers to a thrilling 116-111 overtime victory at home over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday. "I'm just happy we won," said Bryant, who scored 81 last season against Toronto on Jan. 22. "We needed to get this one. We just had to win this game and get back on track, just for a morale standpoint. We're at a point now where everybody's a little beat up." Bryant scored 24 points in the fourth quarter and added nine in overtime, including a pair of free throws with 17.1 seconds remaining to seal the win. "They couldn't keep the ball out of Kobe's hands, and they couldn't keep him from putting that ball in the hoop," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said. "He knocked those 3-pointers down. It was remarkable." Lamar Odom had 15 points, nine rebounds and six assists for the Lakers In his second game back from a five-game absence with a torn labrum in his left shoulder. Zach Randolph led Portland with 31 points, seven boards and a season-high-tying six assists. Kobe Photo Gallery
HEAT'S HOT STREAK CONTINUES
Could Eddie Jones be the key to the Miami Heat's recent success? With a 103-97 home triumph over the Sacramento Kings on Friday, Miami extended its home winning streak to 14, won its ninth straight overall and improved to 16-4 since Jones returned for his second stint with the team after beginning the season with the Memphis Grizzlies. Jones, who has averaged 16.1 points on 53-percent shooting from the field in his last seven games, scored 19 on 7-of-9 shooting from the field, including five early 3-pointers. Jason Williams also scored 19 and hit five threes, while Shaquille O'Neal added 23 points. "We got off to a great start, shot the ball extremely well, moved the ball well, maintained a double-digit lead pretty much throughout,'' Heat coach Pat Riley said. "Eddie and Jason were on fire with 10 3s, Shaq dominated inside ... we've just got to keep the thing going.'' Ron Artest had 32 points and 11 rebounds for Sacramento, which lost its sixth in a row.
FINALS PREVIEW?
Coming off a dramatic double-overtime victory over the Western Conference's first-place Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, the Phoenix Suns couldn't handle the Eastern Conference's best team two nights later. Despite starting point guard Chauncey Billups going down with a strained left groin midway through the second quarter, the Detroit Pistons cruised to a 105-83 win in Phoenix to complete their first 5-0 road sweep through the West in 15 years on Friday. Flip Murray filled in nicely for Billups by shooting 12-of-16 from the field en route to a season-high 25 points and recorded a season-best six steals, while Rasheed Wallace scored 20 and Chris Webber added 17 points and nine rebounds. Amare Stoudemire, who scored 41 in Wednesday's win, registered 24 points and 15 rebounds, but committed seven of Phoenix's season-high-tying 17 turnovers. The loss was by far the most lopsided home defeat for Phoenix this season.
SIXTH MAN
Golden State's Monta Ellis' role has decreased since the return of injured guards Baron Davis and Jason Richardson, but on Friday the 6-foot-3 guard played like his old self. Ellis scored a game-high 24 points and added six assists off the bench to help Golden State maintain the eighth and final spot in the Western Conference with a 106-86 win at home over the Minnesota Timberwolves. The Timberwolves have lost nine straight on the road and are 3-9 since the All-Star break.
COOL/CLUTCH PERFORMANCE
Kyle Korver is best known for his 3-point shooting, which makes it surprising that Philadelphia became only the seventh team this season to win a game without hitting any threes. But Korver did his damage another way Friday. With 5.1 seconds remaining, he came off a screen and knocked down the go-ahead basket to lift the Sixers to an 89-88 home win over the Utah Jazz . Korver finished with nine points, and Andre Iguodala scored a game-high 23.
D-LEAGUE STARS OF THE NIGHT
Roger Powell scored a game-high 29 and Clay Tucker added 25 points and a game-high 11 assists to lead the Arkansas RimRockers to record-breaking 142-130 win over the Colorado 14ers on Friday. Arkansas, which shot 52%, set a D-League single-game record for most points scored, while the total 272 points set a D-League record for most combined points in a game.
