QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
"When players like Delonte come in and guarantee wins, it's a motivator. I didn't really see him at all in the second half. It's a hard way to guarantee a victory when you have the flu. Don't put your team out there bad if you're not going to be out there to help them.'' -- Pacers' foward Jermaine O'Neal, on Delonte West's guarantee of a Celtics victory on Tuesday. Indiana topped Boston, 103-96.
RICK KAMLA'S FANTASY TAKE
Sasha Pavlovic's 24-point night and Austin Croshere's 34 may have some fantasy owners desperate for lineup help thinking about picking them up off the waiver wire. However, realize that Tuesday night's games were an anomaly for both players. Once LeBron James returns for Cleveland and Josh Howard for Dallas, each will see a lot less of the court.

STAT SHEET STUFFER
If Jamaal Tinsley continues to produce stat-lines like the one he put up on Tuesday to pair along with Jermaine O'Neal's, the Pacers will make a serious run in the Eastern Conference. Tinsley scored a season-high 28 points, to go along with six rebounds, seven assists and three steals in Indiana's 103-96 win over the Celtics, its fourth victory in five games. O'Neal finished with 25 points, eight boards and three blocks.

BATTLE FOR EASTERN CONFERENCE SUPREMACY
With the Eastern Conference struggling to find an identity to compete with the surging West, its top two teams faced off on Tuesday without the media limelight. Still, Agent Zero made it his mission to protect the Wizards' half a game lead on the Pistons. Although things looked bleak when Antawn Jamison left in the first quarter with a sprained knee, Gilbert Arenas took charge and tallied 36 points, seven rebounds and 11 assists to lead Washington to a 104-99 victory over Detroit. The win brought the season series to 2-2, nullifying the first tiebreaker for playoff seedings, should both teams finish the regular season with the same record. Caron Butler added 13 points and five rebounds, but the NBA's leading scoring trio of Arenas, Jamison and Bulter, was held short of its 70 points per game average, primarily due to Jamison's injury. Chauncey Billups posted 24 points and eight assists in the loss.
CLOUDY SKIES
With Kobe Bryant suspended and Shaquille O'Neal and LeBron James sitting out with injuries, a number of NBA stars were absent from their lineups on Tuesday. The Cavaliers put up a tremendous group effort to fill the void left by LeBron as eight players scored in double figures in Cleveland's 124-97 win over Golden State. Sasha Pavlovic scored a career-high 24 and the Cavs improved to 8-2 in games without King James, since they drafted the foward with the first overall pick in the 2003 draft. Dwyane Wade notched 25 points in three quarters of the Heat's 110-80 victory over the Bucks, without the Big Daddy. Four other Miami players scored in double figures, led by Jason Kapono's 15-point night. The Lakers were not so successful without Kobe and fell victim to Eddy Curry's 27 points and nine rebounds in their 99-94 loss to Knicks. Lamar Odom tallied 25 points, nine boards and six assists in the loss.
ROOKIE WATCH
Daniel Gibson was nervous prior to his first start at point guard, but you definitely could not tell by his performance. The rookie out of Texas, taken 42nd overall in the 2006 draft, went 4-of-7 from the field on his way to 12 points. He also nailed 4-of-5 3-pointers, leading Cleveland to a season-high 12 threes. "It was special," Gibson said. "I had a couple of butterflies. I really haven't had butterflies like that in a long time." The absence of LeBron James certainly did not show as the Cavaliers put up a season-best 124 points in their home victory over the Warriors on Tuesday. Despite Baron Davis' 25 points, five rebounds and eight assists Golden State dropped to 4-16 on the road.
SIXTH MAN OF THE NIGHT
When the Sonics discovered that Josh Howard was going to miss Tuesday's game for the birth of his first child, chances are they thought they would face a steady dose of Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry. However, Austin Croshere dumped in as many points as both of those players combined. Croshere went 11-of-14 from the field and sank seven threes, a Mavericks' season-best, on his way to a career-high 34 points and seven rebounds. In the process he scored more points that he previously scored in all of January (15) and December (9). The nine-year foward out of Providence negated a beautiful 35-point night for Ray Allen, as Seattle fell, 122-102, to Dallas.
