QUOTE OF THE NIGHT
"I know 80 percent of the plays. Sometimes I forget the name with the play because it's different, but I don't think there's much more to catch up on. I feel a lot more comfortable out there."
-- Detroit's Chris Webber, who shot 7-for-9 en route to his highest Pistons point total (19) and added six rebounds and three assists in a 103-92 win at Charlotte.

RICK KAMLA'S FANTASY TAKE
"It's time to pick up Marcus Williams before the rest of the Fantasy world becomes wise to his big-time game. On Wednesday against the Warriors, Williams packed the stat sheet with 17 points, seven assists, three threes and two steals. Yes, it's the Warriors, and everyone goes off against the Warriors, but I'm thinking this is the confidence boost Williams has needed for weeks. Grab him NOW."

STAT SHEET STUFFERS
LeBron James' season-high 39 points were the most any Cav has ever scored against the 76ers, and he added 10 rebounds and five assists, but it was two plays he didn't make that spelled doom for Cleveland. His missed free throw in the closing seconds of the first overtime necessitated a second extra period, and although he scored 13 more in OT No. 2, including eight in the final 12 seconds, he missed a potential game-tying trey at the buzzer. Andre Iguodala had a career-high 34 points and nine assists in Philly's 118-115 win.

15 AND COUNTING FOR SUNS (AGAIN)
There's something to be said for the Suns' consistency. With Wednesday's 112-107 victory in New York, they secured the season's second 15-game winning streak. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, they became the fifth team in NBA history to record two separate 15-game winning streaks in the same season, joining the 1999-00 Lakers, 1996-97 Jazz, 1970-71 Bucks and 1946-47 Washington Capitols. The list does not include the 1971-72 Lakers' record 33-game winning streak. Amare Stoudemire tallied 30 points and 11 rebounds, Shawn Marion added 20 and 10, and Steve Nash, NBA.com's midseason MVP favorite, tallied 22 points and 14 assists. The win, coupled with San Antonio's loss, means that Mike D'Antoni will be coaching the West in Las Vegas next month.
SHAQ BACK IN BLACK
The champs finally look like the champs again. The Heat welcomed Shaquille O'Neal back on Wednesday, but the Diesel is going to need some time to warm up after missing 35 games due to knee surgery. In just the ninth reserve appearance of his career, he notched five points and five rebounds in 14 minutes and was on the court as Indiana shaved Miami's 20-point third-quarter lead to four. Shaq watched helplessly from the sideline as the Pacers surged ahead, but Dwyane Wade racked up 32 points, five rebounds, eight assists, five steals and three blocks, and tied the game with a 3-pointer as the clock wound down. He missed a chance to win the game at the buzzer, and Miami never led in overtime as Indiana spoiled O'Neal's return, 96-94.
TEXAS TUSSLE
Most players spend their off days relaxing, practicing, spending time with family; anything but more traveling during the heart of the grueling NBA season. But Dikembe Mutombo had good reason to go to Washington. He sat next to first lady Laura Bush during Tuesday's State of the Union Address and was lauded by President Bush for his humanitarian efforts. Mutombo kept up his charity work on Wednesday when the Rockets could have used a nastier, finger-wagging version. Tim Duncan torched Deke for a season-high 37 points, but Tracy McGrady picked up the slack, scoring 37 of his own as Houston got the best of this intrastate rivalry, 90-85 in the Alamo City.
RAPTORS ROAR BACK
When the Hornets scored the first 10 points of the fourth quarter to build a 15-point lead, the Raptors of old might have packed it in. But the 2006-07 incarnation fought back, and finally tied the game on Chris Bosh's 3-pointer with 1:01 left. Jose Calderon came up with four points and a huge block - his fourth in four games after failing to record one since Nov. 3 - in the final 30 seconds, as Toronto, which did not hold a lead for the first 47 minutes of the game, eked out a 90-88 victory. "Last year we probably get down by 20 and put our heads down and that's a wrap," said Bosh, who scored a season-high 35 points. "That's the thing I like about this team. We keep our eyes on the prize."
ROOKIE WATCH
Kevin Garnett's milestone and Randy Wittman's coaching debut aside, the biggest story of the Wolves-Blazers Northwest matchup was the rookie showdown. No. 2 pick LaMarcus Aldridge hit two clutch free throws to force overtime and No. 6 selection Brandon Roy hit two more big ones from the stripe to give Portland the lead for good in a 101-98 win. The seventh man taken, Randy Foye, scored five points for Minnesota, and Sergio Rodriguez, drafted 27th, led the whole gang with 18 points for Portland.
SIXTH MAN OF THE NIGHT
Chucky Atkins popped off the pine to score 29 points and his 3-pointer with 8.5 seconds left forced overtime. He also dished out a career-high 15 assists, helping Pau Gasol tally a triple-double (17-13-12). Carlos Boozer tallied 39 points and 15 rebounds, Deron Williams had a career-high 21 dimes, and Mehmet Okur had two threes in the final 15 seconds of OT to tie it for Utah. But Eddie Jones had the last laugh, driving the length of the court for a game-winning jumper at the horn to give the Grizz a 132-130 win.
D-LEAGUE STAR OF THE NIGHT
Loren Woods probably thought his breakaway dunk with 0.4 seconds left, which gave his Toros a four-point lead, would seal the game. He didn't count on Da Bull. Austin's mascot ran onto the court prematurely, hung from the rim, and collided with an opposing player. He earned a technical foul (and a two-game suspension) for his actions, allowing the visiting 14ers a chance to tie. Thankfully, Rick Rickert's 3-pointer missed and the Toros escaped with a 101-98 victory. Woods had 12 points and 14 rebounds.
