Friday night in Denver brought the stars to Center Court at Jam Session for the McDonald's All-Star Celebrity Game, sponsored by Sprite. Nelly, Mark McGrath and Brian McKnight led the charge of celebs, who were divided into Team Denver and Team Nuggets.

The pregame pep talk by Shaquille O'Neal ignited Team Nuggets early, led by Brian McKnight, who was able to drive on the smaller Jermaine Dupri and Wilmer Valderrama. ESPN announcer Kevin Frazier also had the hot hand early -- frustrating Team Denver coach/GM Greg Anthony, a fellow commentator. Nelly also showed off some impressive dribbling skills for Team Nuggets, who led at the half 30-25.

The second half began with an odd trade -- Kevin Frazier turned his jersey inside-out and defected to Team Denver. When Team Nuggets coach Stephen A. Smith found out, he demanded that Team Denver assistant coach Vivica A. Fox join his team. She elected to stay with Team Denver, however and soon after they made a run, led by WNBA star Lisa Leslie. By the end of the third quarter, Team Nuggets held a 44-39 lead.

The fourth quarter opened with Blind Date's Rodger Lodge vowing to the crowd that Team Denver would come back to win.

Down by 10 with 3:40 to play, Team Nuggets looked as though they had the game wrapped up, thanks to some clutch threes from McKnight and WNBA star Diana Taurasi. But Team Denver stormed back with a late flurry to take the lead by 1 with under a minute to play. With the game on the line, and celebrities everywhere holding their collective breath, Brian McKnight drove the lane and threw in an off-balance shot that sailed in while getting the foul call. With Team Nuggets back up by 1 with 9.9 seconds left in the game, McKnight missed the free throw and gave Team Denver one last chance. But the pressure proved too much, as Team Denver's sloppy ballhandling left Mark McGrath with a desperation halfcourt shot that clanked off the backboard.

Final score: Team Nuggets 65, Team Denver 64. While MVP Brian McKnight celebrated with his teamates, Lodge and the rest of his Team Denver teammates blamed the game on what they considered the X factor: the altitude.
