Mark Price won his second, and final, shootout with an incredible score of 24, and in his rookie season, hometown favorite Isaiah Rider clinched the dunk contest with a sterling between-the-legs slam.

This All-Star Weekend also marked the debut of the Rookie Challenge, as Orlando's Anfernee Hardaway scored 22 points to lead the Phenoms and earn MVP honors in the inaugural event.

In the All-Star Game, Chicago's Scottie Pippen scored 29 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the East to victory. Detroit's Grant Hill becomes the first rookie to be voted a starter in the All-Star game.
