MVP: Hal Greer, Philadelphia
Philadelphia's Hal Greer played only 17 minutes, but it was long enough for the smallest man on the East squad to hit 8 field goals without a miss in the All-Star Game. His perfect performance from the field-plus 5-of-7 foul shots for a 21-point harvest-brought the 6-foot-2 Greer the MVP Award and led the East to a 144-124 victory at Madison Square Garden.
Boston's John Havlicek also turned in a big effort with 26 points in 22 minutes. Los Angeles's Jerry West was the top performer on the losing side with 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists, while the high scorer for the West was the Lakers' Elgin Baylor, with 22 points.
