New York, January 30, 2002 – NBA TV, formerly known as NBA.com TV, will provide basketball fans with more than 100 hours of NBA All-Star 2002 coverage as the league’s 24-hour television network takes the show on the road to Philadelphia, site of the 51st All-Star Game.

NBA TV’s backstage pass to all of the excitement in Philly will include most All-Star festivities and the 2002 NBA All-Star Jam Session, along with exclusive player and celebrity interviews, practices, news updates and game coverage. The comprehensive coverage marks the third annual “road” show at All-Star for NBA TV, which launched in November 1999.

NBA TV will also produce and transmit a live world feed of NBA All-Star to 210 countries and more than 2.5 billion viewers. Global viewers will be watching the events through various live broadcasts including BSkyB (UK), NHK (Japan), CCTV (China) and TV Azteca (Mexico).

“NBA TV continues to be an integral part, and success, of our comprehensive All-Star coverage,” said Gregg Winik, Executive Vice President of Programming and Executive Producer, NBA Entertainment. “With NBA TV, we have the unique ability to deliver our fans at home the opportunity to capture all of the sights and sounds of the All-Star festivities that go well beyond the boundaries of the court.”

Beginning on Wednesday, February 6, NBA TV will tip-off the first two days of All-Star 2002 coverage with continuous news updates throughout the day while airing complete broadcasts of several classic NBA All-Star Games. Production for NBA TV’s All-Star 2002 coverage will operate from an on-site studio located along the perimeter of Jam Session’s “Center Court” – where several of the celebrity and player-driven activities will take place – so the network will get a close look at all happenings, all the time.

NBA TV hosts Ron Burke, Bruce Beck, Carlos Diaz, Mark Morgan and Dei Lynam will capture the stories from Philadelphia providing information and excitement for NBA fans around the world.
