NBA All-Star Saturday Night -- featuring the NBA.com Slam Dunk presented by RealOne, the 1 800 CALL ATT Shootout and the 989 Sports All-Star Hoop-It-Up -- will be televised live beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET on TNT and TSN in Canada and broadcast on ESPN Radio.
Barkley will serve as on-court commentator during the 989 Sports All-Star Hoop-It-Up in which Johnson, Timberlake, R&B singer Brian McKnight, Tom Cavanagh from NBC's Ed, and actor-comedian Jamie Foxx will participate. This three-on-three tournament, new to All-Star Saturday Night, will feature four teams consisting of an NBA player, WNBA player, an NBA Legend and a celebrity.
All-Star Saturday Night’s musical entertainment will feature performances by Philadelphia’s own Daryl Hall & John Oates, singing a medley of their most popular hits including “Sarah,” “One on One,” and “I Can’t Go for That,” and Boyz II Men who will perform a musical tribute to Philadelphia with “MotownPhilly.” Musiq and McFadden & Whitehead, also Philadelphia natives, will add to the evening’s musical line-up with Musiq’s rendition of the Beatle’s classic “Something” and McFadden & Whitehead’s performance of “Ain’t No Stopping Us Now.”
As one of the most successful duo's in rock history, Daryl Hall & John Oates have earned more than 19 gold and platinum awards over their 25-year career with classic releases like "Maneater," "Kiss On My List," and "Rich Girl."
Boyz II Men have sold more than 60 million albums worldwide and have garnered countless awards, including four Grammys, seven American Music Awards and six Soul Train Music Awards. They have been shattering records and making pop music history ever since their discovery at Philadelphia’s prestigious High School of Creative & Performing Arts in 1988.
R& B recording artists and Grammy Award nominees City High, also from the Philadelphia area, will perform the U.S national anthem. The Canadian anthem will be performed by singer/songwriter/producer Robin Thicke, son of television actor and producer Alan Thicke.
