Magic get Cunningham, second pick from Cavs

— The Orlando Magic have acquired a future second round draft pick (2020) and the contract of guard Jared Cunningham from the Cleveland Cavaliers in exchange for forward Channing Frye, General Manager Rob Hennigan announced today.

Frye (6'11", 255, 5/17/83) has appeared in 44 games (29 starts) this season with Orlando, averaging 5.2 ppg., 3.2 rpg. and 1.0 apg. in 17.1 minpg., while shooting .397 (48-121) from three-point range. Originally selected in the first round (eighth overall) of the 2005 NBA Draft by New York, he was signed as a free agent by the Magic on Jul. 14, 2014. Frye played in 119 games (80 starts) with Orlando, averaging 6.5 ppg., 3.6 rpg. and 1.2 apg. in 22.1 minpg., while shooting .394 (184-467) from three-point range. He has appeared in 701 career NBA regular season games with New York, Portland, Phoenix and Orlando, averaging 9.3 ppg., 4.9 rpg. and 1.0 apg. in 24.1 minpg., while shooting .387 (798-2,063) from three-point range.

Cunningham (6'4", 187, 5/22/91) has appeared in 40 games (three starts) this season with Cleveland, averaging 2.6 ppg. in 8.9 minpg.
