Hawks' coach Mike Budenholzer will coach the East All-Stars.
NEW YORK — Atlanta Hawks head coach Mike Budenholzer and his staff will coach the Eastern Conference All-Stars for the 2015 NBA All-Star Game, to be played on Sunday, Feb. 15, at Madison Square Garden.
The Hawks (35-8, .814) clinched the best record in the conference through games played on Sunday, Feb. 1, by virtue of their 110-91 win over the Indiana Pacers on Jan. 21. Atlanta is on a 14-game winning streak, equaling the longest in franchise history.
Budenholzer, in his second season at the helm for Atlanta, owns a career record of 73-52 (.584). He becomes the first Hawks head coach to earn NBA All-Star Game coaching honors since Lenny Wilkens during the 1993-94 season.
The West All-Star coach will be determined by the best record in the conference through games played on Sunday, Feb. 1. Indiana's Frank Vogel and Oklahoma City's Scott Brooks coached last year's All-Star Game, making them ineligible for the honor this year.
The 64th NBA All-Star Game in New York City will be seen by fans in 215 countries and territories and will be heard in 47 languages. TNT will televise the All-Star Game for the 13th consecutive year, marking Turner Sports' 30th year of NBA All-Star coverage.
