NBA Digital announced Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard as the "Social MVP" for the third annual NBA Social Media Awards, which celebrate NBA players and teams for their social engagement throughout the 2013-14 NBA regular season. For the first time, with a new "10 in 10" format this year, NBA Digital presented 10 social media awards in 10 categories over the course of 10 consecutive days with fan voting across NBA.com (http://www.nba.com/sma), Twitter and Facebook. Lillard also received the "Social Rookie of the Year" award for the 2013 NBA Social Media Awards.
The awards were divided into a variety of categories recognizing NBA players and teams for the best social activity across social media platforms. Fans were able to vote and follow all of the conversation and engage with nominees, analysts and more throughout the 10 days. This year's winners include:
