NEW YORK -- The Philadelphia 76ers' Michael Carter-Williams and the Utah Jazz's Trey Burke today were named the Kia NBA Eastern and Western Conference Rookies of the Month, respectively, for games played in January.
Carter-Williams led all rookies in scoring (16.5 ppg) and ranked second in rebounds (5.6 rpg), assists (5.6 apg) and minutes (33.3 mpg) during January. Carter-Williams posted a point-rebound double-double with 19 points and 12 boards, and added seven assists during a 110-106 win at the New York Knicks on Jan. 22. The 76ers recorded a 5-3 road record on the month.
Burke led all rookies in assists (6.8 apg), and ranked third in scoring (11.8 ppg) and minutes (31.5 mpg) during January. He scored in double figures seven times, and handed out five or more assists in nine of 12 contests. Burke recorded consecutive point-assist double-doubles on Jan. 15, during a loss to the San Antonio Spurs, and Jan. 17, during a win over the Detroit Pistons.

Jan. 7 @ Cleveland: Posted a career-high 33 points, and added six rebounds and five assists in a 111-93 loss to the Cavaliers.
Jan. 20 @ Washington: Tallied 31 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals in a 107-99 loss to the Wizards.
Jan. 22 @ New York: Recorded a double-double with19 points and 12 rebounds to go along with seven assists and two steals in a 110-106 win over the Knicks.
Jan. 15 @ San Antonio: Recorded a double-double with 17 points and 11 assists in a 109-105 loss to the Spurs.
Jan. 17 @ Detroit: Posted 20 points, 12 assists, three rebounds and two steals in a 110-89 victory over the Pistons.
Jan. 25 vs. Washington: Contributed 12 points on four-of-five shooting from distance, eight assists and three rebounds in a 104-101 win over the Wizards.
Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference Rookies of the Month were Atlanta's Pero Antic, Los Angeles Lakers' Ryan Kelly, Orlando's Victor Oladipo and New York's Tim Hardaway Jr.
