Cavs' Varejao questionable with banged-up left knee

Posted Jan 28, 2014 2:07 PM

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Cavaliers center Anderson Varejao is questionable for Tuesday night's game against New Orleans because of a knee injury.

Varejao has a hyperextended and bruised left knee. He was hurt in the second half of Sunday's loss to Phoenix and the Cavs say he will be fitted with a brace.

Varejao has been slowed by a variety of injuries in recent years. He played in 44 games this season after being limited to 81 over the three previous seasons. He's averaging 8.8 points and 10.3 rebounds.

Also, Carrick Felix could miss eight weeks with a stress fracture in his left knee. The rookie swingman was injured in a D-League game. Felix, a second-round pick, has played six games for Cleveland this season. He has spent the season shuffling between Cleveland and the Canton Charge.
