CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) — Bobcats point guard Kemba Walker was carried to the locker room by teammates after spraining his left ankle during the third quarter of Saturday night's game against the Miami Heat.
The Bobcats said X-rays were negative, but Walker will not return.
The 6-foot Walker blocked a shot on one end of the floor and raced up court before stepping on Chris Bosh's foot as he attempted a layup. Walker immediately went down, pounding the court in obvious pain with his fist while holding his leg with the other hand.
The Bobcats were leading 64-57 at the time of the injury with Walker having six points and eight assists.
Walker has played in 190 straight games, the second-longest streak in franchise history.
