NEW YORK -- Brooklyn Nets center Brook Lopez has been named by NBA Commissioner David Stern to replace injured East All-Star Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics in the 2013 NBA All-Star Game in Houston. Lopez, who will make his first All-Star Game appearance, is averaging 18.6 points and 7.3 rebounds in 38 games for the Nets who stand in second place in the Atlantic Division with a 27-18 record.
The 62nd NBA All-Star Game will be played at the Toyota Center in Houston on Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 (8 p.m. ET), televised exclusively on TNT and broadcast exclusively on ESPN Radio in the U.S. The All-Star Game will reach fans in more than 215 countries and territories in more than 47 languages.
