LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Matt Barnes of the Los Angeles Clippers needs surgery to repair a retinal tear in his left eye.

The team said Thursday that Barnes sustained the injury against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday.

He's expected to miss at least two weeks.

Barnes is averaging 5.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.6 assists in eight games.

The Clippers played at Oklahoma City on Thursday night.

Last week, the NBA fined Barnes $25,000 for failing to leave the court in a timely manner after being ejected in a game against Oklahoma City and using inappropriate language on Twitter.
