Cavaliers get Bynum back in lineup versus Wizards

Posted Nov 16, 2013 7:37 PM

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Cleveland center Andrew Bynum will be in the starting lineup for just the second time this season when the Cavaliers play the Washington Wizards.

The 7-foot Bynum, who missed all of last season with a knee injury, has been in and out of the lineup, appearing in five games for Cleveland. He is averaging 6.8 points and 4.4 rebounds in 16.4 minutes. He missed the past two games for family reasons.

Cleveland coach Mike Brown is looking for leadership from the 26-year-old Bynum, a change from his time with the Lakers when he was the youngest player in the lineup.

"It's an opportunity for him to lead the team in the right direction," Brown said. "It's different. In L.A. he was a young whippersnapper."

Guard Dion Waiters did not accompany the Cavaliers on the trip to Washington. When asked if his absence was due to a reported scuffle during a players-only meeting on Thursday, Brown responded, "He's been to the doctor twice."
