Pacers flexible with 23rd pick in Draft

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The Indiana Pacers are contemplating all of the possibilities in Thursday night's NBA draft.

They could improve the bench with selections at No. 23 and 53, make a deal for a tested veteran or look beyond next season and toward the future.

After reaching the Eastern Conference finals and pushing two-time champion Miami to Game 7 earlier this month, the Pacers do need one thing: The missing link to making a title run.

General manager Kevin Pritchard has a history of aggressive draft-day moves. He acknowledges that he has been fielding phone calls about potential trades since last week as rumors heated up that Indiana is interested in trading for Jimmer Fredette of Sacramento. Pritchard declined comment on the rumors, focusing instead on draft night.
