THE FACTS: In staking the Nets to a 22-2 lead, Deron Williams hit his first six 3-pointers, including two pull-ups in transition, delighting a boisterous Barclays Center crowd. In the Nets' 95-78 win over the Wizards. Williams (42 points, five assists) set an NBA record with 9 first-half treys and staked the Nets to their biggest advantage (+24) after one quarter of action this season. Reggie Evans provided another spark, finishing with 11 points and a career-high 24 rebounds. John Wall scored 16 points and dished out six assists for the Wizards, but he struggled with his shot and guarding Williams.
QUOTABLE: "I just got hot, you know. It's just one of those games where you come out and hit a couple of shots and you start feeling good and you just keep doing it."
THE STAT: Williams broke the Nets' season-high for 3-pointers in the game's first 4:45.
TURNING POINT: The Nets started the game on a 16-0 run and the Wizards never led. Williams' first 3-pointer put the Nets up 5-0.

INSIDE THE ARENA: The Wizards went to the hack-a-Reggie, daring Reggie Evans to beat them from the foul line in the fourth quarter. Evans struggled, but the crowd repeatedly roared louder with each of Evans' trips to the line and consistently chanted his name.
ROOKIE WATCH: Bradley Beal did not play due to a sprained left ankle and the Wizards' offense suffered as a result. ... Mirza Teletovic set a career-high with eight rebounds, but shot the ball poorly.
NOTABLE: Williams shot 11-16 from distance; the rest of the Nets were 1-11 and the rest of the players that played were a combined 4-28. Williams' 11 3-pointers were a Nets franchise record and a career-high ...Williams was one 3-pointer shy of tying an NBA record held by Donyell Marshall and Kobe Bryant. ... Evans recorded 20 rebounds or more for the fourth time this season, tied for most in the league.
