Posted Mar 6, 2013 8:21 PM

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Washington Wizards rookie Bradley Beal was scratched from the lineup against Minnesota on Wednesday night because of a sprained left ankle.

Beal was injured on Sunday against Philadelphia and listed as day to day. Coach Randy Wittman says his team's leading scorer is improving but not ready to play against the Wolves, who have been plagued by injuries all season long.

Forward Kevin Love is scheduled to visit his hand specialist in New York next Wednesday. Love has played in just 18 games this season because a right hand that has been broken twice. Love says he hopes to be playing in two to three weeks.

That's roughly the same timeline for swingman Chase Budinger, who has only played in five games because of a left knee injury.
