Timberwolves' Budinger cleared for agility drills

Posted Feb 25, 2013 3:58 PM

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- Minnesota Timberwolves forward Chase Budinger has been cleared by doctors to start doing agility drills while he works his way back from a knee injury that has kept him out for most of the season.

The team says Budinger was cleared on Monday and will start doing more running on the court in addition to some cutting and jumping on his surgically repaired left knee. Budinger will be re-evaluated in two to three weeks, putting his return to the court likely closer to the end of March.

He tore the lateral meniscus in his knee in the sixth game of the season. The loss robbed the Wolves of a much-needed perimeter shooter and versatile swingman.

The Wolves start a three-game road trip in Phoenix on Tuesday.
