NEW YORK (AP) -- Brooklyn Nets forward Gerald Wallace left Friday night's game against Phoenix after landing hard on his right arm and shoulder about midway through the first quarter.

Wallace drove to the rim and as he was in the air, Phoenix forward P.J. Tucker went for the ball and fouled him. The impact of the play with 6:09 to go in the opening quarter sent Wallace crashing to the floor where he lay face down while a Brooklyn trainer checked him out.
Replays showed Wallace's landing on his right arm and shoulder but the team said that X-rays were negative but he did have bruised ribs.
Wallace was unable to take his free throws and was replaced by rookie guard Tyshawn Taylor and therefore unable to re-enter the game.
