NEW YORK (AP) -- Carmelo Anthony missed his second straight game Monday with a sprained left ankle, while New York Knicks teammate Amar'e Stoudemire moved closer to returning.

Stoudemire has been out all season after left knee surgery. Coach Mike Woodson says Stoudemire has been cleared to practice and will work out with the Knicks' NBA Development League affiliate this week.
Woodson didn't know if Stoudemire could play this week on the Knicks' homestand, saying he wouldn't rush the veteran forward.
Anthony was hurt last Thursday in a victory over the Lakers and told Woodson earlier Monday he didn't feel ready to play against Houston.
