NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- Anthony Davis, the overall No. 1 draft pick of the New Orleans,left Friday night's game against Utah and was tested for a possible concussion and did not return.

Davis had eight points -- all on dunks in the first half -- six rebounds and two blocks. He was injured with 4:51 left in the first half. The Hornets released an official statement that he will be out for the rest of the game. The Hornets trailed 41-40 at halftime.

After the game, the Hornets said Davis suffered a mild concussion. He will undergo further tests in New Orleans on Saturday morning and will not be in Chicago for Saturday nights game vs. the Bulls. Beyond that, he will be listed as day-to-day.

Davis, who led Kentucky to the NCAA championship last season, scored 21 points in his regular-season debut on Wednesday in the Hornets' 99-95 loss to San Antonio. He hit 6 of 12 shots, made all nine of his free throw attempts and grabbed seven rebounds.
