Pacers promote Dinwiddie to VP of operations

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- The Indiana Pacers have promoted Peter Dinwiddie to vice president of basketball operations.

He had been serving as the team's director of basketball administration.

The Pacers said Wednesday that Dinwiddie will assist new general manager Kevin Pritchard and new team president Donnie Walsh comply with the NBA's collective bargaining agreement and personnel rules, contract negotiations and salary cap management.

Dinwiddie is an Indianapolis native who attended Indiana University and has a degree from the New England School of Law.
