NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- The New Orleans Hornets have added top overall NBA draft choice Anthony Davis to their Las Vegas summer league team.
Davis was in Las Vegas last week for U.S. Olympic team tryouts, but a sore left ankle hampered his already slim chances to make the 12-man roster for the London Games.
The 6-foot-11 Davis is now an Olympic alternate and is available to join New Orleans' summer league squad for its five-game schedule running from July 15-21.
The Hornets announced their full 15-player summer league roster on Monday. There are 11 rookies on the squad, including 2012 draft picks Austin Rivers and Darius Miller, as well as 6-11, 255-pound center Darko Planinic, a free agent from Bosnia.
