OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma City Thunder's victory over Miami in the opener of the NBA Finals drew the highest overnight rating ever for a Game 1 on ABC.

The game drew an 11.8 rating, according to Nielsen, an increase of 10 percent from the 10.7 for the Heat's Game 1 victory over Dallas last year.
The previous Game 1 record for ABC was in 2004, an 11.6 for the opener of Detroit's victory over the Lakers.
ESPN says Wednesday the game generated a 44.3 rating in Oklahoma City, the highest for an NBA game in that market.
Ratings represent the percentage of all homes with televisions tuned into a program. Overnight ratings measure the country's largest markets.
