Butler start for Clips despite broken left hand

Posted May 5 2012 7:24PM

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- Caron Butler was in the starting lineup for the Los Angeles Clippers in Game 3 despite breaking his left hand in the opener of their first-round playoff series against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Butler sat out Game 2, which the Grizzles won in Memphis to even the series 1-1.

Clippers coach Vinny Del Negro says the Clippers might have underestimated the veteran forward's toughness.

Butler's left hand is his non-shooting hand.
