DALLAS (AP) -- Mavericks forward Lamar Odom is missing Wednesday night's game against his former team, the Los Angeles Lakers.

Coach Rick Carlisle says Odom was excused from the game to attend to a family member. He didn't elaborate.
Odom is in his first season with Dallas. He played the last seven seasons with the Lakers, who were prepared to trade him to New Orleans for Chris Paul in a deal blocked by the league before the Mavericks acquired him.
Carlisle says Odom will rejoin the team after the All-Star break.
Odom is averaging 7.7 points and 4.5 rebounds a game for Dallas. He was only 3-of-14 shooting the last two games.
