NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- The New Orleans Hornets signed forward Sasha Pavlovic to a 10-day contract to bolster the team's injury-riddled roster.

Terms of the deal, per team policy, were not disclosed Friday.

The eight-year NBA veteran from Montenegro holds career averages of 5.5 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.0 assists in 16.5 minutes.

The addition of Pavlovic comes after starting small forward Trevor Ariza sprained his right ankle at Oklahoma City on Wednesday night, leaving him questionable for Saturday night's home game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Pavlovic joined the NBA with Utah in the 2003-04 season, then spent five seasons with Cleveland, one with Minnesota and 10 games this season with Dallas.
