Heat's James, Grizzlies' Randolph win NBA weekly honors

NEW YORK, Jan. 10, 2011 -- The Miami Heat's LeBron James and the Memphis Grizzlies' Zach Randolph today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Jan. 3, through Jan. 9.

James paced the league in scoring (33.3 ppg) to go along with 9.5 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 2.25 steals, leading Miami to a 4-0 week. He scored at least 25 points in all four games, including a 44-point, 13-rebound effort to close the week during a 107-100 win over the Trail Blazers. James recorded a season-high six steals during a 101-95 win on Jan. 7 at Milwaukee.

Randolph placed fourth in the Western Conference in both scoring (28.0 ppg) and rebounding (14.3 rpg) for the week, as the Grizzlies posted a 2-1 mark. Randolph posted point-rebound double-doubles in all three contests, including a 31-point, 16-rebound effort during a 110-105 win over Oklahoma City on Jan. 4. Memphis is 8-5 this season when Randolph posts at least 20 points and 10 rebounds.

Jan. 3 @ Charlotte: Posted 38 points, nine rebounds and five assists in a 96-82 win over the Bobcats.
Jan. 4 vs. Milwaukee: Scored 25 points to go along with six rebounds and nine assists in a 101-89 win over the Bucks.
Jan. 7 @ Milwaukee: Tallied 26 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and six steals in a 101-95 win over the Bucks.
Jan. 9 @ Portland: Tallied 44 points, 13 rebounds and six assists in a 107-100 win over the Trail Blazers.

Zach Randolph, Memphis Grizzlies
Jan. 4 vs. Oklahoma City: Recorded 31 points and 16 rebounds during a 110-105 win over the Thunder.
Jan. 7 vs. Utah: Poured in 26 points and 11 rebounds in a 110-99 victory over the Jazz.
Jan. 8 @ Oklahoma City: Netted 27 points and added 16 rebounds and two blocks during a 109-100 loss to the Thunder.

Other nominees for the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week were Atlanta's Jamal Crawford and Joe Johnson, Boston's Ray Allen, Los Angeles Clippers' Blake Griffin, Miami's Dwyane Wade, New York's Raymond Felton, Oklahoma City's Kevin Durant, Orlando's Hedo Turkoglu and Portland's LaMarcus Aldridge.
