NBA Digital today announced that a version of their popular mobile application, NBA Game Time, will be one of the first applications pre-installed on the Google TV platform set to launch later this month.

NBA Game Time is also the first professional sports league application that will be available on the platform. Google TV is a new platform that brings together the best of TV and the best of the Internet in a single, seamless entertainment experience. Google TV will be available on a TV and Blu-Ray player from Sony and a companion box from Logitech.

The NBA Game Time application will allow fans to follow NBA games in progress with a real-time scoreboard, watch on-demand video highlights optimized for an HD viewing experience, and check the latest league standings and statistics -- through their television.

"We are excited to be among the select group of companies with pre-installed apps for the highly anticipated launch of Google TV. With our commitment to multi-platform innovation and distribution, it's only natural for us to be among the first to partner with Google TV on such a ground-breaking platform," said Bryan Perez, senior vice president and general manager for NBA Digital.

NBA Game Time launched in April 2008 and last year was available for fans on mobile via the Android Marketplace, App Store and Blackberry App World. Additionally a version of NBA Game Time was offered on television through VIZIO Internet Apps platform and Roku digital video players.
