LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Kentucky coach John Calipari says he's never talked to LeBron James about the NBA superstar's future or becoming the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Calipari said Friday the only contact he's had with James recently was to wish one of James' children a Happy Birthday. James can become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Several NBA teams are jockeying for position in hopes of signing the two-time MVP.
The coach says James has to do what's right for his family but doesn't know if James plans to stay in Cleveland. The Cavs are still looking for a head coach after firing Mike Brown last month.
Calipari and James have become friends in recent years, with James even making an appearance at a Kentucky basketball game last winter.
