Big Baby, Wallace cleared to play in Game 6

BOSTON (AP) -- Glen "Big Baby" Davis and Rasheed Wallace returned to action for the Boston Celtics in the first quarter of Game 6 of the Eastern Conference finals on Friday night after being hurt in the previous game.

Davis replaced Kevin Garnett with 8:09 left in the first quarter after Garnett picked up his second foul. Davis had blacked out on the court with a concussion Wednesday night after being hit by an inadvertent elbow from Magic center Dwight Howard.

"It's concerning" for Davis to play so soon after his concussion, Boston coach Doc Rivers said. "I'll say it another time. Doc is just a nickname. They gave him clearance. I don't know what tests they did. Our game -- you're not supposed to get concussions -- like football. You hope he doesn't get hit in the head again."

Wallace entered the game with 1:31 left in the first quarter, replacing Kendrick Perkins. Wallace tweaked his back in the last game, when the Magic won 113-92 to avoid elimination for the second straight time.

"Spasms. He wasn't feeling great," Rivers said. "The veterans with injuries, they know how to get through it. The young guys like 'Baby,' you don't know how they'll get through it."

Boston guard Marquis Daniels, who also sustained a concussion in that game, was not in uniform.

"He had tingling in his feet and hands," Rivers said. "He's the one you just can't take a chance."

The Celtics lead the series 3-2. A loss would force a Game 7 in Orlando on Sunday and give the Magic a chance to be the first team in NBA history to come back from a 3-0 deficit in a best-of-seven series.
