![]() The Bulls are still looking for the right combination. Only Luol Deng has started more than 30 games. Joakim Noah has played well as of late, but consistency from the group as a whole has been lacking.

![]() A solid showing by Derrick Rose, the No. 1 overall pick, prevented this grade from being lower. He's been a starter since opening night and the team's best player. Getting Kirk Hinrich back from injury should help.

![]() Despite being fourth in the league in blocked shots, the Bulls haven't been able to stop anyone and have a -3.4 point differential. Injuries have thrown the defensive rotations, and hence consistency, out of whack.

![]() Only Rose and Ben Gordon have started more than 39 games for the Bulls with Deng the next highest. Andres Nocioni has played in all 45 games and is the only reserve averaging in double figures (10.1 ppg).

![]() It's been a rough season for Vinny Del Negro, who's a head coach for the first time on any level. Injuries haven't helped make it easy, but the players have had a hard time buying what Del Negro has been selling.

Summary
Just two seasons ago, this franchise swept the then-defending champion Heat out of the playoffs before taking the Pistons to six games in the conference semis. The future was theirs.
Unfortunately for the Bulls, that sweep of the Heat was the recent high point. After finishing last season with 33 wins, the Bulls are on pace to win 33 games this season. Rose has been a revelation for Chicago, but the rest of the team has floundered. The Bulls still have no offensive force in the post and Del Negro has had trouble earning the respect of his players.
Ben Gordon, the Bulls' most potent offensive weapon, hasn't been happy since his contract dispute and had a recent public blowup with Del Negro. Hughes wants out. Since his watershed season in 2006-07, Deng has fought nagging injuries and his production has slipped to its lowest levels in three seasons. -- Rob Peterson
