Lakers' Odom leaves game with back spasms

Posted May 10 2009 6:17PM

HOUSTON (AP) -- Lakers forward Lamar Odom left in the third quarter against Houston with back spasms after a hard fall and will not return.

Odom was injured when he drove into the lane and collided with Shane Battier and landed hard on the court.

He remained face down for about a minute writhing in pain before slowly rising to his knees, getting up and making his way down the court. He was called for a charge and was given a technical after jawing with an official over the call.

A Lakers official put ice on his back and wrapped it with a bandage before he went to the locker room.

He had two points and six rebounds in about 25 minutes.
