It all started thousands of miles from home, two men sharing the same dream.

Together, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James proudly represented their country on the U.S. National team in China and took home an Olympic gold medal. But this journey also resulted in the unexpected -- a friendship between two of the game's fiercest competitors.
Fast forward just months later, to the NBA season.
Kobe, a 13-year NBA veteran at just 30 years of age and perhaps the game's most clutch player, and LeBron at 24 years old, a formidable package of eye-popping size, strength, speed, and skill who has yet to reach his prime -- each on a mission to get his team back to The Finals.
Kobe is in the hunt for his fourth championship, which would solidify his place in league annals, while LeBron is in search of his first taste of NBA glory. During the season, their head-to-head matchups were treated with the fanfare of heavyweight bouts.
And two nights apart in February, they stole the show at Madison Square Garden, staging a game of "Can You Top This?" for the ages.
The Most Valuable Player discussion became inevitable as the two men led their teams to the top of their respective conferences.
The Cavaliers were nearly unbeatable on their home court as they won a franchise-record 66 games, while the Lakers where head and shoulders above a very talented and deep Western Conference.
Through exclusive access to these two teams -- and the two most talented basketball players in the world -- this one-hour special tells the story of an NBA season to remember.
Viewers will learn about Kobe and LeBron's basketball journeys, while gaining insight into their preparation, leadership styles and devotion to their families -- and as much as they're competitors on the court, how they've maintained their friendship.
The show will also feature experts and fans from all walks of life weighing in on the two players, offering contrasting opinions on their personal favorites
Not since Magic and Larry has the NBA featured opponents that combine such a high level of skill, charisma, and ultimately, professional and personal respect.
Now, Kobe and LeBron are building their own legacy of shared triumph - and fierce competition - as the Dream Season continues to unfold.
