Thunder waives Harris, trimming roster to 15

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) -- The Oklahoma City Thunder have waived forward Mike Harris, trimming the roster to 15 players before the start of the regular season.

Thunder General Manager Sam Presti announced the move Friday. Harris played in two preseason games for Oklahoma City, averaging 2.5 points and 2.5 rebounds.

Harris' departure means veteran forward Ryan Bowen essentially won a four-man competition for Oklahoma City's vacant roster spot. The 6-foot-9 Bowen is entering his 10th season after five seasons with Denver and two apiece with Houston and New Orleans.

Oklahoma City will open its season on Wednesday at home against the Sacramento Kings.
