Knicks pick up options on Chandler, Gallinari

Posted Oct 23 2009 6:29PM

NEW YORK (AP) -- The New York Knicks have exercised contract options on Wilson Chandler and Danilo Gallinari.

New York picked up the fourth-year option Friday on Chandler, who greatly improved in his second season, averaging 14.4 points and playing in all 82 games.

Gallinari, the No. 6 pick in the 2008 draft, was limited to 28 games as a rookie but is considered the Knicks' best outside shooter.

Chandler and Gallinari are two of the six players still under contract after this season, when the Knicks will have plenty of salary cap space to use in free agency.
