Celtics' Walker has arthroscopic surgery on right knee

Posted Oct 2 2009 2:24PM

BOSTON (AP) -- Boston Celtics forward Bill Walker underwent successful right knee arthroscopic surgery.

The surgery Friday at the New England Baptist Hospital was aimed at repairing a meniscus tear Walker suffered on the first day of training camp. The team said no timetable has been set for his return.

Walker also had surgery on the knee last year.

The second-year player averaged three points in 29 games last year with the Celtics. He also averaged 18.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in the developmental league.
