Wizards' Arenas participates in 5-on-5 halfcourt drills

Posted Oct 2 2009 4:40PM

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Gilbert Arenas took part in five-on-five halfcourt drills at Washington Wizards practice on Friday after sitting out scrimmages the previous two days.

Wizards first-year coach Flip Saunders says the oft-injured Arenas has taken part in just about everything during training camp but a dislocated finger sidelined him for the scrimmages.

Arenas dislocated the middle finger on his left hand in a pickup game before training camp began, then aggravated it this week. Saunders says it could be an ongoing issue all season.

Arenas has had three operations on his left knee in 1 ½ years and missed all but two games last season. He also played in just 13 games the previous season because of the injury.
