Boston guard Tony Allen has ankle surgery

BOSTON (AP) -- Boston Celtics guard Tony Allen has had surgery on his right ankle and leg.

The team says he's expected to recover from the surgery, performed Wednesday, in time for training camp this fall.

Allen averaged 7.8 points last season, when he missed 34 of the last 47 regular season games with the ankle injury.
